Malik In Briefs...
or in brief, if you must spoil my fun...
When he is ten Malik
goes through a ceremony and scars that speak of the God Cards and the Pharaoh's
Memory is engraved on his back. Apparently his home is
underground, so the poor guy never gets to see the light of day. (makes
one wonder how come he's got that tan then?)
Isis one day helps Malik sneak outside to see the light, and when they get back, his father goes a little bit ballistic and basically tries to murder Rishid by stabbing him repeatedly. Understandably this upsets Malik, as Rishid is his only friend.
"From the darkness formed in Malik’s
heart by his dark childhood, Yami Malik is born. While Malik watched his only
friend hurt by his father he flipped. Yami Malik killed Malik’s father that
day. When Malik came to himself again he was shocked to find his father dead.
He was told by Shadi that it was the pharaoh’s (Yugi) wishes that his father
was dead. From that day on Malik wanted nothing but revenge. Malik is a
cold-hearted person. He had little feelings toward others. He also has little
considerations for innocent people’s safety. Therefore, many people are hurt
or killed during the Battle City Arc. All he wants is his revenge. He is a
dark and manipulative character, however his darkness is nothing when compared
to Yami Malik." (-Where is this from? I would like to credit!)
When Malik changes
into Yami Malik, his hair goes insanely spiky and his eyes narrow. Yami Malik doesn’t even care about Malik and
nothing about people Malik cares about. you don’t want to cross Yami Malik’s path if you value
your life."
Malik doesn’t have
much control over his Yami but he does try to fight it as shown with his
support for Yami Bakura when the two Yami fought against each other. At the
end of Yami Malik’s duel with Yami Yugi, Malik was able to take control of
his own body and destroy Yami Malik once and for all.
After the dueling is over, Malik promises Yugi that next time they meet, they will be friends and disappears, presumably to Egypt.
Oh by the way, Malik means 'King' in Arabic...interesting, no?...Especially when considering Yami is the "Pharoah"...

FOR AN ALTERNATIVE: MARIK

He can express his deeper thoughts and feelings best through writing. His friendships and personal associations are rather restricted, being limited to those of a similar nature who can understand and accept his rather straightforward yet reserved manner. He is steadfast and loyal, and does not allow gossip or anything belittling to be said against those whom he accepts in friendship. He finds satisfaction in being outdoors or in getting out into nature, or in dealing with the products of the earth. There is originality and depth of thought contained in this name, particularly along practical and mathematical lines. This name can adversely affect the health of his respiratory organs, the heart and lungs. Also, he are prone to suffer from weaknesses centering in the head.
Hmm, they all have one thing in common: weakness in the head. I wonder if insanity is considered a 'weakness of the head' ?
